Glicin (Glicin, okrajšan kot Gly) je znan tudi kot aminoocetna kislina. Njegova kemijska formula je C2H5NO2. Je bela trdna snov pri sobni temperaturi in tlaku. Glicin je najpreprostejša aminokislina v aminokislinski seriji. Za človeško telo ni potrebno. V molekulah ima tako kisle kot alkalne funkcionalne skupine. V vodi je ioniziran in ima močno hidrofilnost. Spada med nepolarne aminokisline, topne v polarnih topilih, vendar netopne v polarnih topilih.
